Buying Art from Jay Bird Art Studio

It is my great pleasure to create works of art for you to enjoy! I want your experience with the website, the vendor for prints, and the artwork you purchased to be as pleasant as possible. Whether you decide on a print, an original painting, or a custom commission you can be sure my dedication to quality does not stop at the art - I want the entire experience to be great; from packaging to shipping original and custom paintings to the service provided by the print vendor. If there is ever an issue with your experience, please feel free to reach out to me.

Custom Commission Inquiries

I am proud to be able to paint in a range of styles and techniques to match your taste and style. There are many reasons for commissioning custom art - immortalizing a moment in time, commemorating achievements and milestones, capturing a cherished family memory, gift giving and more.

I enjoy doing work in "the style of..." because painting something for the above reasons while creating an homage to a loved artist is fun and challenging. However, I will not paint a copy of any other artists work, and I will never commit to painting in a style I cannot adequately pull off. If you are interested in a custom commission I urge you to check out the gallery of commissioned art to get an idea of my range and if I can meet your needs. This, along with an explanation of your vision, idea, or concept and images for reference will facilitate our conversations about your custom work. My goal is to make your art buying experience as pleasant and fun as possible. We will be in contact from the moment you request a custom painting, we can discuss any and all aspects of your new piece - you can share images of the room where the painting will live and we can discuss color and theme options to create the perfect piece for your space.

Any reference photos must be submitted within two days of our agreed start date. If a photo was taken by someone other than you (especially professionals) and you want a painted version, permission must be obtained from the photographer to use their photo as reference for artwork - in writing.

A photographic "proof" of the finished artwork will be provided via email. You will need to agree to approve the work within one week of receiving the email or request small changes. The final payment is due within one week of the proof or proof of revisions being sent. Payments are non-refundable after you agree upon the proof.

I will retain the copyrights of the final artwork as well as the right to use the artwork for marketing purposes.
